Delete your myna account
Last updated: 11 May 2026
You can permanently delete your myna household, your account, and all associated data at any time. This page explains the two ways to do it and exactly what gets removed.
How to delete your account
Option 1 — From inside the app (recommended)
- Open the myna app on your phone.
- Sign in as the household administrator (the parent who created the household).
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete household.
- Confirm with your parent PIN.
- Your household and all member data are queued for deletion within 30 days.
Option 2 — By email
If you can no longer access the app (lost device, deleted app, forgotten PIN), email [email protected] from the email address registered on your myna account.
Include in your email:
- The household name shown in the app (or your registered name)
- The phone number used at signup, if any
- A short note confirming you want the household and all member data deleted
We respond within 7 business days and complete deletion within 30 days of confirming your identity (per PDPA / GDPR timelines).
What gets deleted
- All household member accounts — parents, kids, helpers, relatives
- All messages — text, voice notes, photos, video notes, AI Aunty transcripts
- All tasks — open, completed, and historical
- All calendar events created in myna (we do NOT delete events from your linked Google Calendar / Apple Calendar)
- All location history — kid-phone trail data and saved-place geofences
- All call records — call history metadata (call audio is never recorded by myna)
- All announcements and household chat history
- Your household subscription record on our server (App Store / Play Store handles your billing subscription separately — cancel that in your phone's Subscriptions settings)
What is retained, and for how long
For legal, security, and accounting reasons, a small amount of data is kept after deletion:
- Server logs mentioning your household ID — kept up to 90 days, then automatically purged. Required for abuse investigation and security incident response.
- Payment records from RevenueCat / App Store / Play Store — kept per the platforms' own retention policies (typically 7 years for tax compliance). myna does not control these; contact Apple / Google directly for platform-side deletion.
- Email correspondence with our support address — kept up to 2 years for service-quality records, then deleted.
Third-party services
myna integrates with several third parties. Deletion of your myna account triggers deletion or disconnection from these services:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push tokens are revoked immediately
- Google Calendar / Apple Calendar — myna's connection is severed; events myna created in your calendars REMAIN in those calendars (we don't have permission to delete them after we lose access). To remove them, open Google Calendar / Apple Calendar and delete events you no longer want.
- Agora (calls) — channel access tokens are revoked immediately. No call audio or video is ever stored by Agora or myna.
- Vertex AI / Gemini / ElevenLabs (Aunty narration) — input transcripts are processed under contracts that don't allow training; we don't store anything per-user that needs separate deletion.
Children's accounts
Kid accounts are administered by the household parent. Deleting the household automatically deletes all kid accounts. A parent can also delete an individual kid account from Settings → Family → [Kid name] → Remove from household, which deletes that kid's messages, tasks, and location history specifically.
Reactivation
Once deleted, accounts cannot be recovered. To use myna again, sign up for a new household. Old message history, tasks, and family map data will not be restored.
