myna — Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 May 2026 · Effective: 9 May 2026
These terms govern your use of myna — a family-coordination appliance built by Herbert Chan (Singapore). By installing, signing in to, or using myna on any device, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. Who can use myna
- You must be at least 13 years old to set up a household account, or use myna under a parent or guardian's account.
- Parents must obtain consent from each household member before adding them, including children whose accounts are managed under PDPA / GDPR / COPPA equivalent rules in your jurisdiction.
- One parent ("household administrator") manages the family account, billing, and member roster.
2. Your account and security
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure — Google / Apple sign-in, household invite codes, and parent PINs.
- Notify us immediately at [email protected] if your account is compromised.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use myna for any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or abusive purpose.
- Attempt to access another household's data, reverse-engineer the apps, or probe the service for security vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure.
- Upload content that infringes third-party rights, contains malware, or violates Singapore's Protection from Harassment Act or comparable laws in your jurisdiction.
- Use the service to send unsolicited communications outside your household.
4. Subscription and billing
- myna offers a free trial followed by a paid subscription. Pricing is shown in the app and on myna-app.com.
- Subscriptions are billed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) at the price quoted in your local currency. Auto-renewal applies unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Cancel anytime in your device's App Store / Play Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period — no partial refunds.
- Refunds are governed by the App Store / Play Store policies of your platform.
5. Third-party integrations
myna integrates with optional third-party services. When you connect them, their respective terms also apply:
- Google Calendar — when you connect, myna reads and writes events to a calendar you select. Subject to Google Terms of Service.
- Apple Calendar (iCloud) — when you grant access, myna mirrors household events into a calendar you choose. Subject to Apple's iCloud terms.
- Agora — voice / video calling between household members. Audio and video pass through Agora's network in real time and are not recorded by myna.
- Firebase Authentication — Google sign-in and Apple sign-in use Firebase Auth. Identity tokens are verified server-side.
- RevenueCat — subscription billing reconciliation across iOS and Android.
6. AI-generated content
- "Aunty" and other AI features generate text, audio, and images. Output may occasionally be inaccurate, dated, or stylistically off. Treat AI suggestions as drafts — verify before acting on safety-critical information (medication, allergies, schedules involving children).
- You retain ownership of your household content. By using AI features you grant myna a limited licence to process your inputs for the purpose of generating the requested output.
7. Service availability
- myna requires an active internet connection — calls, AI features, translation, push notifications, and location sharing all depend on the network.
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance windows, third-party outages (Google, Apple, Agora, telecom networks), and force majeure events may affect availability.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice via in-app messaging or email.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- myna is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) SGD 50.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Singapore law (e.g. fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
9. Termination
- You may stop using myna anytime. To delete your household and all associated data, email [email protected] from your registered account — we'll process the deletion within 30 days per PDPA timelines.
- We may suspend accounts that breach these terms, or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to other users or to the service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
- Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be referred to the Singapore International Mediation Centre, then to the courts of Singapore if mediation fails.
12. Contact
